How does eSIM work?

An eSIM and a normal physical SIM card do the same thing. The difference is that the eSIM is activated by scanning a QR code, while the normal SIM card is physically placed in the phone.

eSIM advantages:

A useful thing about eSIM is that multiple eSIMs can always be activated on one phone. When traveling outside Europe, you can remain reachable on your Dutch telephone number, while you use a databundle via the prepaid eSIM because it is much cheaper. For WhatsApp nothing changes, with both the prepaid eSIM and the normal prepaid SIM card, you can continue to use WhatsApp as you are used to when traveling outside Europe. This also applies to email and other apps.
